In the framework of the MEDIC-NEST project, a new workshop took place on the 19th of October in Romania. It was hosted by Imago-Mol Cluster and integrated as part of the Sustainability Forum that was organized in Iași.

The workshop Strategic analysis of the innovation potential of life sciences – ICT cross-sector in the European Value Chain of precision medicine was focused on the preparation of the Strategy of the European Meta-Cluster in Precision Medicine, on the main partnership agreement conditions for the Meta-Cluster and on setting the basis for the Joint Action Plan for Precision Cancer Medicine. Besides that, the value chain each cluster belongs to was analyzed, the cross-sector opportunities and competitiveness were outlined and the upskilling and reskilling needs were discussed.

The meeting held in Iasi was also a great opportunity for the creation of the Advisory Board of the meta-cluster, as the first Romanian scientific members of this ensemble were present at the event. In their presence, the role of the Advisory Board was discussed and ground rules were settled.

An important part of the workshop was dedicated to start drafting the strategic plan index of the Meta-Cluster and completing the MEDIC NEST business model canvas, an essential instrument for the latter development of the alliance.

We also had be honored to host an online intervention from Antonio Novo, president of the European Cluster Alliance, who presented the ECCP report on the disruptions in value and supply chains focusing on the health domain, in order to gain a broader perspective on the European context and to receive inputs on how can the creation of the meta-cluster be an added-value at EU level.

The next workshop within MEDIC-NEST project will take place in Greece, in January 2023.
